Zomtype: the zombie typing game
Drive an armoured truck down a ruined highway and type to survive. Every zombie carries a word. Type it before the zombie reaches your truck, and drive your survivors to safety. It is free to play in your browser, with nothing to install.
How a run works
Your truck drives itself along a ruined road. Zombies walk, run and charge towards it. Type the first letter of a word to pick your target, then finish the word: your gunner on the roof turns and fires with every correct letter. Every zombie you stop gives the truck a burst of speed, and stopping them one after another builds a combo that multiplies your score. The truck has five health bars, and every zombie that reaches it knocks some health off. Big ones hit harder.
Three ways to play
- Endless. Drive as far as you can. The levels get harder, and every third level ends at a rest stop where the truck refuels, gets patched up and drops off the survivors it picked up.
- Blitz 90s. Ninety seconds at full pace, ending at a fortified safe zone with a small town behind its gates.
- Weekly challenge. A Blitz run with a twist on the rules that changes every week.
Rescue survivors, grab supplies, beat the boss
Stranded survivors wait along the road. Type their name and they climb aboard, and each rescue restores a health bar. Roadside crates give you a Toolbox to repair the truck, a Freeze to slow every zombie, or an Airstrike that calls in a jet. Hordes rush the truck in waves. The boss carries a three-word phrase and loses a piece of armour with each word you type.
Upgrade your truck
Coins from every run buy upgrades in the Garage, and each upgrade tier changes how the truck looks: Armor Plating, a Turbo Engine, Reinforced Suspension, a Scanner, Lucky Bounty and a Combo Shield. Choose paints and door emblems, and restore a fully upgraded truck to earn Veteran stars with small lasting perks.
A typing game for every level
Pick a pace: Practice, Relaxed, Normal or Intense. On Practice the truck can't be damaged, so beginners can take their time. Pick a word pack: Mixed, Survival, Nature or Everyday. Fast typists can chase their best score and their words per minute.
